The Atlantis Virtual Academy is not your typical virtual school experience – it’s a true Atlantis community. Our program is specifically designed for students with autism and related disabilities, to effectively teach academic, life and social skills in a virtual setting.
We are a virtual school community that provides a safe and nurturing environment to enhance our students’ academic, social, and emotional growth and foster a sense of self-worth and self-confidence. The Atlantis Virtual Academy (AVA) welcomes and serves students from all across the state of Florida.
Applications for Atlantis Virtual Academy are accepted year-round. Enrollment is on a rolling basis, so students can start the AVA program at any point during the school year!

What We Do Differently
At Atlantis Virtual Academy, we get to know your student just as well as we would in a traditional classroom environment; the level of care and support we provide to our students is unparalleled by any other virtual education program.
Unlike most other virtual education providers, we have small online class sizes. Our teachers provide one-on-one and small-group instructional support to students daily – not weekly or monthly. Students attend daily live, synchronous classes with a small-group of similarly aged peers and a teacher. Atlantis Virtual Academy class sizes and student-teacher ratios are kept small, to maximize one-on-one support and learning opportunities.
Our Florida Virtual Learning Curriculum
We utilize research-based instructional methods and curriculum, and provide individualized, one-on-one instructional support for each and every student. The AVA curriculum is aligned to the Florida State Standards and utilizes comprehensive materials and instructional tools to ensure students are making meaningful academic progress. All curriculum is personalized and differentiated to meet the unique learning needs of the individual student.
The Atlantis Virtual Academy program is comprehensive: students will receive daily instruction in language arts, math, science, social studies, life skills, and socialization skills. All students will also be encouraged to participate in physical education, to help instill a healthy lifestyle.
